Platonic Solids

The 5 Platonic Solids are the simplest symmetrical straight edged forms in 3 dimensions. Each of their faces, edges, and angles is identical. Understanding their symmetries and why there are exactly 5 Platonic Solids is an important landmark in understanding the nature of space itself. The Platonic solids are the building blocks from which all more complex 3D straight edged regular forms can be constructed.
